Bathurst's access to Sydney via the road network is always improving. Continuous work through the Blue Mountains has helped reduce the time taken to make the trip from Sydney to Bathurst, and with talks of upgrading the Bells Line of Road continuing, the region could open up even more.

Access to Bathurst from Sydney is either via the Great Western Highway from the M4 or the Bells Line of Road from Richmond.
